Hydrogenated polyisobutylene, also known as synthetic squalane, is a saturated hydrocarbon polymer obtained by hydrogenation of polyisobutylene. It is widely used in the fields of cosmetics, personal care and industry. It usually appears as a colorless, odorless, transparent liquid or semi-solid state, and its viscosity varies with different molecular weights, ranging from low-viscosity light oily substances to high-viscosity waxy substances. It has good spreadability and can form a uniform film on the surface of the skin or hair.
Excellent hydrophobicity, with outstanding water and sweat resistance.
Low surface tension, enabling easy spread and smooth application.
Good volatility, delivering a lightweight and non-greasy feel.
Eco-friendly and readily biodegradable.
Colorless, odorless, and non-toxic.
